I have just booked our ski holiday in February. With two young kids in tow I will be heading off to a child friendly destination and hotel which might not be exactly what my interior design loving soul is longing for. But taking into account that it will just be me and the kids this time, the design and surroundings of the hotel of my choice mainly have to be this: practical, manageable and fun – of which the latter is of course a direct result of the first two attributes… A spa and a kids club is a must though, and thankfully our children love a bit of time on their own, away from their parents (and vice versa…).
The perfect winter escape if it were just me and the husband looks slightly different (no climbing frames, high chairs and wipes for sticky fingers in sight). Come in and enjoy!

For a start, this post has – funnily enough – satisfied my desire for beautiful, stylish and “grown up” winter escapes. Now I can’t wait to show our little son how snow looks and feels and tastes like. Don’t laugh, living in London, the poor thing has made it to three and a half years of age, and has no concept of the frozen element apart from what he has experienced by watching “Frozen” a gazillion times, together with his sister. It is time for us three to build some snowmen (and somehow I fear he will be called “Olaf”…), have a proper snowball fight, learn to ski and drink hot chocolate with marshmallows – wet wipes at the ready!
