This might be my last non-Christmas-related post – before I will probably cave in and admit that the festive season has fully and truly started. I have been ignorant to this fact for the last few weeks and tried to pretend that Christmas is nothing more than an event in the distant future. But this misconception has come to a sudden end today with a visit to Central London: It jingles and bells, glitters and twinkles wherever you turn. And tomorrow I will even pay a visit to the Spirit of Christmas Fair! There is no way back from then on.
But for now, let me share this weekend’s object of envy with you – completely without tinsel: The Georg Bench by Danish design brand Skagerak.
I saw the Georg bench at Heal’s today after – online – laying my eyes on it a couple of months ago. Designed by Christina Liljenberg Halstrøm, the bench is the epitome of minimalistic Scandinavian design. For our home I prefer the model in black painted oak but the natural version is equally beautiful. I love the detail of the leather strings holding the pillow in place.
Dimensions: 124w x 38d x 45h cm
Also available from the Georg series: stool, console table, mirror, clothes rack, clothes hanger.
I will keep you posted if this object of desire will make it into our home…
